GivingTuesday Spark Global Youth Challenge
GivingTuesday is coming up on December 3, and the GivingTuesdaySpark leaders are challenging young people from all around the world to join them in rallying acts of generosity! Each GivingTuesdaySpark leader is sharing one of their favorite social good projects. Pick a project, watch the video tutorial, and sign up to lead the project in your community. Gather your supplies, gather your friends or classmates, and let’s rally to do some major good on GivingTuesday this year.
Pack Essentials Kits for People Experiencing Homelessness
Join GivingTuesday Spark leader Jahkil Jackson in packing and distributing essentials bags to people in need this GivingTuesday. He’s looking to rally youth from all over the world to partcipate! You’ll collect supplies, host a local event with other young people to pack the bags, then distribute them directly to people in your neighborhood or via a local nonprofit organization. Click here to download the supply list and sign up below for the virtual event and to tell Jahkil you’re participating!
NEST4US Service Extravaganza
As Giving Tuesday Spark Chapter Leaders, our goal is to show people that you don’t have to be an adult, have any special skills, or even be a superhero to make a positive impact on someone’s life- you just need a positive attitude, passion for service, and a giving heart! For this year’s GivingTuesday, calling for youth to give service on December 3. To support this initiative, you can sign up to volunteer and donate your money, items, or your time by checking out our website, www.nest4us.org, and our social media pages! We can’t wait to see the many ways our amazing community spreads radical generosity, on GivingTuesday and beyond!
Give Smiles
Led by Spark leader, Sammie Vance, participants will write letters to those who might need a little boost. You might write letters to: students in a grade younger than yours, seniors at a nursing home, veterans, healthcare workers, the mail carrier, or you could even write to your cousins, friends, or teacher - everyone loves a little reminder that they’re special! Sammie says, “The world needs encouragement and smiles now more than ever and if everyone gives a little bit of kindness, it can add up to something big!”
Create change for the Future
Led by Spark Leader: Justin Sather Justin will spark ideas in kids around the world to create change for the future. Participants will come up with an idea or a change they hope to see at their school, in their community, or in the world and e-mail it to Justin here (justinsfrogproject@gmail.com) Next, Justin will share the book that helped him grow his idea to protect over 30 acres of cloud forest in Ecuador and clean over 600 pounds of trash and plastic from the dirtiest rivers in the world. Hit the link below to e-mail Justin directly or print out the template to get your idea started.
Give through gaming
On December 3, as part of the big GivingTuesday global giving day, FreeRice and GivingTuesdaySpark will be bringing you the 20 Million Rice Grains Challenge, where you will be able to feed the hungry by playing a fun game of trivia! The goal of the challenge is for youth around the world to keep playing and answering questions until we have globally collected 20 million grains of rice. Participating in the 20 Million Grains of Rice Challenge will also count as you participating in an act of generosity on GivingTuesday!
