Generosity out of the Spotlight (G.O.S)

What is the G.O.S PROGRAM?

A program where young people will be able to spread generosity in a way that’s comfortable for them and doesn’t require unwanted attention, while reporting it to GivingTuesdaySpark. They may want to eventually transition out of this program and into being a public facing Spark leader. This program can be an option for kids who are traditionally too young to participate in Spark since they will not be plastered all over the internet.

Who is G.O.S for?

Young people who are interested in spreading generosity but not interested in the spotlight, being reposted, an ambassador or inspiring others to get involved. Maybe the young person suffers from anxiety or they are not confident yet in their ability to make change.

Why is G.O.S A GOOD IDEA?

Spreading generosity is something all people should experience! Young people might be more hesitant to join for these reasons and more:

  • Some young people don’t want to be in a leadership position.

  • Some young people might not be confident in their ability to make change and they may need to watch others in action first.

  • They may have social anxiety

  • Parents may not want their children exposed on the internet. 

  • It’s a good way to add Spark to a resume or application or as a reference without having to participate in the public facing aspect of the program.

Where will G.O.S take place?

In the comfort and privacy of your home and on your (possibly) private social media accounts if you would like to.

Year-round!

  • After reading what the program is about, fill out the sign up form, then at the bottom click the option to join the Generosity Out of the Spotlight program.

  • We will send you a G.O.S. intake questionnaire, fill it out and submit it.

  • In the meantime, Identify what types of generosity you’d be interested in doing: Do you want to support the projects of Spark Leaders? Do you want to do some behind the scenes work with GivingTuesdaySpark HQ? Do you want to do your own custom acts of generosity?

  • Do small or big acts of generosity.

  • Fill out your brag sheets by the first of each month to let us know what you did!
